Living Wall

The Living Wall is an enormous “wall” across central Orem that stretches from the Alia Kara’Vesh Mountains in the west all the way to the ocean in the east. The Living Wall is composed of an unbroken chain of trees that have been grown together to form a solid barrier between the Great Rainforest and the realm of Hassuna. Most of the trees that compose the wall are about 50 feet high, though some have been deliberately grown taller to function as de facto watchtowers.

The Living Wall was begun in -634 BR. It is unknown when exactly the wall was completed, or why it was built, as the years -634 BR to -614 BR have all been stricken from the histories of Hassuna. Attempts by elven historians to reconstruct this twenty-year history have been entirely unsuccessful. This purge of histories was apparently ordered in -613 BR, but no explanation of the undertaking has been recorded. Some have speculated that the Living Wall was necessitated by the rise of a serious evil from the Great Rainforest, but the wall has not been threatened since that time.
