The Nightmare Chalice

Mahra is frequently depicted with the powerful artifact known variously as the Chalice of Insanity, Mahra’s Cup, or the Nightmare Chalice. It is unknown at what point Mahra acquired (or made) the chalice, but it appears to be used as a vessel for storing (and, later, consuming) mortal souls. It is also possible that the Chalice serves no function at all and that Mahra simply uses it for her own twisted amusement, as it allows her to literally “drink” the souls of mortals. Whatever the case, the few sightings of Mahra that have occurred in this age have always featured the Chalice and so most theologians do not think it is merely a symbol.
